Devastating Storms and Flash Floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Kill Several, Rescue Operations Underway

Peshawar:Severe storms and flash floods have wreaked havoc across various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Bajaur, Lower Dir, Balakot, and Salarzo Jabarri, resulting in multiple fatalities and missing persons.
In Salarzo Jabarri, a lightning strike killed six members of a single family on the spot. Torrential rains caused rivers and streams to overflow, damaging numerous homes and leaving several people unaccounted for.
In Maidan Suri, the roof of a residential house collapsed during the storm, trapping seven people under the rubble. Rescue teams managed to pull out four survivors, while three others were found dead. The operation continues as rescuers fear more may be trapped.
In Balakot’s Mahandri area, three laborers from Dir—Naveedullah, Sajjad, and Ayan Khan—were caught between two swollen streams during a flash flood but were successfully rescued by emergency teams.
Rescue and relief efforts are ongoing as authorities work to control the situation and assist affected families in the region.
