Extended Power Outages Grip Karachi Amid Intense Heat

Karachi is facing prolonged power outages as both scheduled and unscheduled load shedding continue during a period of intense heat, causing widespread disruption across the city.
Reports indicate that announced load shedding in several areas has exceeded 12 hours, while many neighborhoods are also experiencing additional unannounced outages lasting for several hours.
Areas including Garden, Lyari, North Karachi, New Karachi, Malir, Korangi, and Orangi are among the worst affected, with residents enduring long electricity cuts. Meanwhile, Manghopir, Surjani, Sohrab Goth, Baldia Town, and parts of Malir are also facing similar conditions.
Even areas previously exempt from load shedding are now reporting hours-long unannounced outages, adding to public frustration.
The ongoing power crisis has particularly impacted students preparing for matriculation and intermediate examinations, as frequent outages disrupt their study schedules during critical exam periods.
