Friday Holiday in Schools to Be Abolished, Institutions to Resume Regular Schedule

Islamabad: Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has announced that the Friday holiday introduced in schools will be abolished, and educational institutions will soon return to their regular weekly schedule.
Dismissing circulating reports suggesting that the Friday تعطیل would be made permanent, the minister clarified that the decision was only temporary and would be fully withdrawn in the coming weeks. He emphasized that schools across the province will resume their normal timetable shortly.
The provincial government, he added, is in continuous coordination with the federal government regarding the reversal of this policy.
Speaking about summer vacations, Rana Sikandar Hayat said that a final decision regarding any changes to the تعطیلات schedule will be made after May 15.
He further stated that any decision in this regard would be subject to final approval by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
It is worth noting that the Friday holiday had been introduced as a temporary measure in response to the global energy crisis and rising fuel prices. Under this arrangement, students were directed to attend online classes on Fridays instead of physically going to school. Authorities now say that, after reviewing the situation, educational institutions will be restored to their standard weekly routine.
