Two Killed in Karachi Traffic Accident at Punjab Colony Underpass
KARACHI, June 23, 2026 — A traffic accident at the Punjab Colony underpass in Karachi has claimed another life after a wounded victim succumbed to injuries in hospital, bringing the total death toll to two, police said.
According to police officials, the deceased have been identified as Riaz and Ishaq. The incident occurred when three laborers were returning home after work.
Authorities said that both victims and the injured person belonged to Jalaulpur, a city in Punjab province, and were engaged in daily wage labor in Karachi.
Police added that the truck driver and his assistant involved in the accident fled the scene immediately after the incident. Efforts are underway to locate and arrest them.
The injured victim was shifted to a nearby hospital, where he later died despite medical treatment.
Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing, while authorities are reviewing possible negligence and traffic violations that may have led to the collision.
