5.7 Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Islamabad and Several Parts of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Tremors were felt in Islamabad and several parts of the country, causing panic among residents who rushed out of their homes and offices.
According to seismic monitoring authorities, the earthquake measured 5.7 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was located in the Afghanistan–Tajikistan border region, with a depth of approximately 170 kilometers.
The tremors were felt not only in the federal capital but also in multiple areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Rawalpindi, Swat, Malakand, Batkhela, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Mansehra, Upper Dir, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Mingora, Buner, and Shangla, along with surrounding localities.
The sudden quake created fear among citizens, many of whom were seen reciting prayers as they evacuated buildings and gathered in open spaces. No immediate reports of casualties or major damage have been received.
