Pakistan, Seven Other Countries Condemn Israel’s Land Grab in West Bank

ISLAMABAD: The foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar have strongly condemned Israel’s recent decision to declare certain lands in the occupied West Bank as “state land” and approve large-scale land registration and ownership procedures for the first time since 1967.
In a joint statement, the eight Muslim-majority countries said the move aims to accelerate the establishment of illegal settlements, consolidate control over lands, and impose unlawful autonomy on occupied Palestinian territories, undermining the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
The foreign ministers described Israel’s actions as a violation of international law and the Fourth Geneva Convention, calling it contrary to United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334.
The statement also warned that this “illegal and aggressive” decision weakens the two-state solution and threatens prospects for just and comprehensive peace in the region.
The ministers urged the international community to take effective and decisive measures to halt such actions and to support the establishment of a free and sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the June 4, 1967 borders, safeguarding the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.
