Two Killed, 11 Injured in Violence and Road Accidents Across Balochistan; Grenade Defused in Mach

QUETTA: At least two people, including a minor, were killed and 11 others injured in separate incidents of shootings, robberies, road accidents, and tribal clashes across various districts of Balochistan, officials and reports said.
According to details, incidents of armed robberies and firing were reported from Dera Murad Jamali, Bakhtiarabad, and Usta Muhammad, where armed suspects opened fire during resistance, leaving one person dead and four others injured.
In Bakhtiarabad, an injured victim of a road robbery, identified as Irfan Ali Magri, succumbed to his injuries in hospital. In another incident in Dera Murad Jamali, two individuals, including a vehicle driver, were injured during firing in the Ghareebabad area. Police have registered separate cases and launched investigations.
Traffic accidents also claimed and injured multiple lives. In Zhob, a 14-year-old boy, Mudassar Sherani, was killed after being hit by a speeding vehicle near a degree college. On the Quetta–Pishin highway, two individuals were injured in another accident and were shifted to hospital. In a separate incident, a father and son were injured after being hit by a motorcycle in Dera Murad Jamali.
Meanwhile, a tribal clash near a local rice mill left three people injured, who were shifted to a teaching hospital for treatment.
Security forces also averted a potential disaster in Mach, where a suspected hand grenade was recovered from a garbage dump near a residential area. The bomb disposal squad successfully defused the explosive device.
In Khuzdar, police conducted operations under the instructions of the SSP and arrested four absconding suspects involved in fighting and firing incidents. In separate raids, two more individuals, including a suspect named Waleed, were arrested with weapons and narcotics.
Separately, the body of an unidentified drug addict was recovered from Quetta’s Jinnah Road area near a taxi stand. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital for identification and medico-legal procedures.
The rising incidents of violence, drug abuse, and accidents have raised concerns among civil society, which has called for stronger rehabilitation measures and improved law and order in the province.
