Trump Says Second Round of Iran Talks Likely Friday, Ceasefire to Continue

ISLAMABAD: U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed hope that a second round of negotiations with Iran could take place on Friday, with expectations of positive developments.
Speaking to an American newspaper, Trump said the U.S. military has been instructed to remain prepared for all possible scenarios. He added that talks with Iran could resume within 36 to 72 hours, with the next round potentially bringing “good news.”
The U.S. president also stated that potential military action against Iran had been paused following a request from Shehbaz Sharif and Asim Munir. According to Trump, Pakistan’s leadership urged restraint until a unified proposal is presented by the Iranian side.
In a message shared on social media, Trump said the ceasefire would be extended until the negotiation process is completed. He noted that the pause in hostilities would remain in place until Iran formally presents its proposals, indicating a continued focus on diplomatic efforts.
