US Allegedly Transfers Seized Iranian Vessel Crew and Cargo via Pakistan for Repatriation, Reports Say

Washington: American media has reported that the United States has transferred an Iranian cargo vessel and its crew to Pakistan as part of efforts to return them to Iran.

According to US media citing the US Central Command (CENTCOM), the Iranian cargo allegedly seized during a blockade operation on Iranian ports has been moved, along with its crew, to Pakistan for repatriation to Iran.

ABC News, quoting CENTCOM spokesperson Captain Tim Hawkins, reported that US forces transferred the vessel MV Tosca and its 22 crew members to Pakistan for their return home. Hawkins further stated that six additional passengers had already been transferred to another country last week for repatriation to Iran.

CENTCOM has not officially confirmed the report, while neither Pakistani nor Iranian authorities have issued any verification regarding the development.

Earlier, US naval forces reportedly seized the vessel Tosca in the Gulf of Oman on April 19 after it allegedly failed to comply with blockade instructions.
