Iranian Adviser Rejects Trump’s Ceasefire Extension, Calls It a “Tactical Move

An adviser to the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, Mehdi Mohammadi, has rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement to extend a ceasefire, dismissing it as insignificant.
In a statement shared on social media, Mohammadi said the declaration holds “no value” and argued that the losing side cannot dictate terms. He further claimed that the ongoing blockade against Iran is effectively equivalent to aerial bombardment and should be met with a military response.
The adviser also warned that the extension of the ceasefire could be a strategic maneuver aimed at buying time for a potential surprise attack. He urged Iran to take the initiative and maintain control over the evolving situation.

Earlier, President Trump stated that the United States would halt any planned attack on Iran following a request from Pakistan’s leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir. According to Trump, the ceasefire would remain in place until Iran presents a unified proposal and diplomatic talks move forward.
The conflicting statements underscore heightened tensions and deep mistrust between the parties, raising uncertainty over the prospects for meaningful negotiations.
