Allegations of Harassment in Female Exam Centres Raise Serious Concerns Over Transparency in Balochistan Board Exams

Quetta: Serious allegations of harassment and irregularities in female examination centres during the ongoing FA/FSc examinations under the Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education have sparked concern among education circles in Quetta.

According to sources, a junior clerk associated with the board is reportedly visiting various female examination centres under the pretext of inspection and allegedly harassing female students and staff during checking procedures. The situation is said to have created a stressful environment, leaving students mentally disturbed.

Further allegations suggest that the concerned official has a controversial past, although these claims have not been officially verified. Critics have also raised serious concerns over the board administration’s silence on the matter, questioning why the same individual has been assigned sensitive duties in female centres.

Reports also indicate that the official has been included in an important inquiry committee, which has been strongly criticized by observers as a conflict of interest and a violation of transparency principles.

A female teacher, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that if the situation continues, students’ confidence will be severely affected and called for immediate protection measures. Meanwhile, a parent expressed deep concern, stating that sending daughters to educational institutions becomes worrying if their safety cannot be ensured.

Educational and social circles have demanded that the Chairman and Controller of Examinations of the Balochistan Board take immediate notice of the situation, conduct an impartial investigation, and ensure strict security arrangements in female examination centres.

They have also warned that if the matter is ignored, parents, teachers, and civil society may be forced to stage protests to demand accountability and protection for students.
