Balochistan CM Orders Local Tests for Grade-IV Jobs in Gwadar

QUETTA:Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti arrived in Gwadar, where he was received by senior administrative officials and accorded a guard of honor by a smartly turned-out police contingent.
During his visit, the chief minister met a delegation of the All Parties Gwadar and held detailed discussions on the regional situation and issues confronting local residents.
Representatives of political parties briefed the chief minister on the area’s basic needs and public grievances. They called for improved civic facilities and demanded that tests and interviews for Grade-IV government posts be conducted locally.
Responding to the demand, Chief Minister Bugti ordered that tests for Grade-IV vacancies be held at the local level in Gwadar as well as all other districts of Balochistan.
He directed authorities to ensure that local candidates are recruited against district-specific quotas for Grade-IV positions. “We will not allow the rights of any local candidate to be taken away,” he said, stressing that merit and district quotas must be strictly followed.
The chief minister also took notice of complaints regarding the appointment of non-local individuals to Grade-IV positions in the Fisheries and Forest departments in Gwadar. He ordered an investigation into the recruitment complaints and assigned the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team to conduct the inquiry.
Bugti said he had come to Gwadar to listen to all political parties and stakeholders and address the problems faced by local people. He said resolving public grievances was the government’s responsibility and that genuine demands would be acted upon promptly.
The chief minister said claims about Gwadar’s development had been made for decades and announced that the government would review the record of resources spent on the city’s development over the past 20 years.
He said the government would assess both the funds spent on development projects and their impact on the lives of local residents.
“Development in Gwadar cannot be limited to major projects,” Bugti said, emphasizing the need to provide citizens with clean drinking water, healthcare, education, employment and other basic facilities.
He said creating employment opportunities for Gwadar’s youth and ensuring their legitimate rights was the government’s responsibility. The rights of local youth in government recruitment would be protected and no injustice would be tolerated, he added.
Bugti stressed that the benefits of development projects must reach the local population, saying the true purpose of development was to improve people’s quality of life.
He said the government would continue consultations with political parties and local representatives to resolve Gwadar’s problems. Gwadar, he added, is a key center of Balochistan’s development and the local population must be made an equal partner in the region’s progress.
The chief minister said the government would take practical measures to address public concerns rather than relying merely on announcements, while ensuring proper monitoring of development projects, transparent use of resources and protection of the public interest.:::
