Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party Holds Protest in Qila Abdullah Against Fuel Price Hike and Inflation

Quetta: The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party staged a large protest in Qila Abdullah’s Mizai Adda area against what it described as the “cruel” increase in petroleum prices and soaring inflation.

The demonstration drew a large number of party workers, traders, transporters, laborers, students, and local residents, who carried placards and banners while chanting slogans against the government’s economic policies.

Addressing the gathering, party leaders including provincial deputy secretary Malik Ubaidullah Kakar, Inayatullah Achakzai, district secretary Dr. Mahmood Kakar, Ramzan Kakar, Syed Ahmed Kakar and Zakria Khan Kakar said that repeated increases in fuel prices had severely affected low- and middle-income families.

The speakers said rising petroleum prices had led to higher transport fares and a sharp increase in the cost of essential food items, making it increasingly difficult for ordinary citizens to meet basic needs.

The party leaders strongly criticized the government’s economic management, accusing it of incompetence and poor governance. They demanded an immediate reduction in petroleum prices, strict action against profiteering and hoarding, and urgent relief measures for the public.

At the conclusion of the protest, the speakers warned that if the government failed to take serious steps to control inflation and provide relief, the movement would be expanded from the district level to a province-wide and nationwide campaign.
