Information Secretary Imran Khan Expresses Satisfaction Over Public Relations Department Performance, Calls for Greater Focus on Digital Media**

Balochistan Information Secretary Imran Khan chaired a high-level meeting to conduct a detailed review of the overall performance of the Public Relations Department. The meeting was attended by Director General Public Relations Muhammad Noor Khetran, senior officers of the Information Department, and representatives of relevant sections.
At the outset, DG Public Relations Muhammad Noor Khetran presented the department’s annual performance report, highlighting publicity and outreach efforts over the past year regarding provincial government policies, development projects, public welfare schemes, and governance initiatives. The report also covered information dissemination through print, electronic, and digital/social media platforms, media coverage, official advertising campaigns, and departmental reforms.
Addressing the meeting, Information Secretary Imran Khan appreciated the overall performance of the Public Relations Department, noting that its efficiency has improved over the past two years, particularly with a significant increase in government outreach on social media platforms. He emphasized that maintaining effective communication between the government and the public is the core responsibility of the Information Department.
He stressed the need for timely, accurate, and effective promotion of provincial government policies, development schemes, and public welfare projects to enhance public awareness and promote transparency. The Information Secretary noted that, in line with changing times, the importance of digital and social media has grown substantially alongside traditional media, and therefore the Public Relations Department must make full use of modern technology and communication tools.
Imran Khan directed that positive and effective publicity of government initiatives through social media be further expanded to ensure outreach to all segments of society, especially the youth. He also highlighted that, in accordance with the Chief Minister of Balochistan’s vision, a comprehensive restructuring process is underway across various provincial departments aimed at institutional reforms, improved performance, and modernization of public service delivery.
He added that key areas of focus include improvements in service rules, elimination of redundant and inactive posts, creation of positions aligned with new requirements, redesignation, and professional training of officers and staff. He urged Public Relations Department officers and staff to enhance their professional skills, utilize modern media tools, and perform their duties in line with government priorities.
Concluding the meeting, participants discussed various proposals and recommendations and decided to formulate a **coordinated strategy** to further improve the department’s performance. It was also agreed that such review meetings would be held regularly to ensure more effective promotion of government policies and public welfare initiatives.
