Iran Says No Immediate Deal Expected After Talks; Thanks Pakistan for Hosting

Tehran/Islamabad:** Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei has said that discussions on key issues continued over the past 24 hours, but expectations of an immediate agreement were unrealistic given the complexity of the matters involved.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, he said it should not be expected that a comprehensive deal could be reached in a single round of negotiations. He added that the complexity of issues, along with the inclusion of some new topics, made the process more challenging.
Baghaei reiterated that Iran would continue its diplomatic efforts to protect its rights and national interests, while using all available means, including diplomacy.
He also expressed gratitude to Pakistan for hosting the talks, saying Islamabad played a positive role in facilitating the negotiation process.
According to Iranian officials, discussions also covered broader regional issues and the complete cessation of hostilities against Iran. They emphasized that the success of the diplomatic process depends on the seriousness and good faith of the other side.
The statement comes after reports that high-level Iran–U.S. talks failed to produce a final agreement, despite extended negotiations.
