Steve Smith Calls Peter Siddle “Chacha” in Lighthearted Post-Match Chat

Steve Smith of Multan Sultans playfully referred to his teammate Peter Siddle as “Chacha” during a post-match conversation following Multan Sultans’ victory over Rawalpindi.

At the start of their chat, Smith greeted Siddle saying, “Hi Steve and Chacha,” noting that Siddle is commonly called Chacha. The two shared smiles and lighthearted banter throughout the conversation.

The nickname “Chacha” was popularized during the BBL, when Haris Rauf first used it for Siddle. Siddle recently expressed his amusement at the nickname in a media talk, referring to himself as the “foreign Chacha” while local player Iftikhar Ahmed was called the “local Chacha.”

In the discussion, both players celebrated Multan Sultans’ win and their rise to the top of the points table. Siddle mentioned winning the toss and praised the bowling performance, while Smith highlighted the contributions of the spin bowlers, including Nawaz and Arfat, and lauded the captain’s efforts.

Siddle added that their strategy was to restrict the target, acknowledging the role of dew later in the game. Smith also praised Shan Masood for his growing strength and timing in shots, noting that he effectively chased the target alongside Farhan in a successful partnership.

The playful “Chacha” moment reflected the camaraderie and relaxed mood within the team after another strong performance.
