Property Tax Records Handed Over to Local Bodies in Karachi

Karachi:the property tax records have been transferred to local municipal authorities, as per a notification from the Excise and Taxation Department. From now on, the collection of property taxes will be managed by these local bodies. The notification also outlines a three-month period during which support will be provided to the local authorities for this transition. Additionally, property tax records for the nine districts of Hyderabad will be included in a second phase of the handover. Sindh’s Senior Minister, Sharjeel Memon, stated that this reorganization is expected to enhance the performance of the Excise and Taxation Department.
