Petrol Likely to Increase by Rs70, Diesel by Rs100 Per Litre Amid Rising Global Prices

Islamabad: The government is expected to announce a significant increase in petroleum prices, with petrol likely to rise by Rs70 per litre and diesel by Rs100 per litre, adding further burden on the public.

The new prices are set to be officially announced by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb during a press conference, accompanied by Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik.

According to sources, the expected hike is driven by rising global oil prices and escalating tensions in the Middle East. Additionally, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has reportedly ended subsidies on petroleum products, contributing to the anticipated increase.

Experts warn that the sharp rise in fuel prices could lead to further inflation, impacting transportation costs, food prices, and other essential commodities across the country.
