Suspect Involved in Multi-Crore Fraud of Over 700 Citizens Flees Court After Bail Rejection

Karachi: A suspect accused of defrauding more than 700 citizens of billions of rupees in various areas of Gulshan-e-Hadeed fled the court premises after his bail petition was rejected.

The case was being heard at Malir Court, where the court dismissed the bail application of Basir Ahmed. Following the rejection, the suspect managed to escape from the courtroom.

Basir Ahmed is also facing a cheque bounce case filed at Steel Town Police Station by citizen Waqas Chaudhry. According to the plaintiff’s lawyer, Advocate Abbas Zar, Basir Ahmed, along with his accomplices, had established a showroom named “Nazeer Motors” in Gulshan-e-Hadeed and allegedly defrauded over 700 individuals across areas including Ghaghar Phatak.

The lawyer stated that the suspect would purchase vehicles from various individuals and issue cheques in payment, which later bounced. Waqas Chaudhry, for instance, had sold two cars and received two cheques in return, which ultimately bounced. Advocate Zar urged the court to deny the suspect bail, asserting that he did not deserve it and should be sent to jail.
