Child Life Foundation Ward to Open at Turbat Teaching Hospital, Second Largest Pediatric Facility in Balochistan

Turbat (Qudrat News) – In a major boost for healthcare in Turbat and the wider Makran region, the Department of Health, under the initiative of Provincial Health Minister Bakhit Muhammad Kakr, has announced the establishment of a Child Life Foundation (CLF) Ward at Turbat Teaching Hospital.
This new ward will be the second largest and most modern pediatric facility in the province after Quetta, offering comprehensive treatment for children’s emergencies, illnesses, and medical complexities locally in Turbat.
According to health officials, the ward has been designed like a dedicated children’s hospital, incorporating all relevant medical specialties. A specialized team from Quetta, alongside MS Waheed Bileedi, has conducted a detailed inspection of the building and begun renovation and setup work.
Minister Bakhit Muhammad Kakr stated that, following directives from Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, all necessary facilities and modern medical equipment will be installed within a month, with the ward opening shortly thereafter.
The government aims to transform Turbat Teaching Hospital into a “Health Headquarters” for southern Balochistan, ensuring that international-standard medical care is accessible to the region. The Department of Health emphasized that active cooperation from hospital administration and doctors is essential to provide top-quality healthcare at the doorstep of ordinary citizens.
