NA-256 Contest Is a Battle of Ideologies, Not Candidates: Shafiqur Rehman Mengal

Wadh (Daily Qudrat Quetta) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and NA-256 candidate Shafiqur Rehman Mengal has stated that the upcoming election in the constituency is not a contest between individuals but between two opposing ideologies.
Addressing a large public gathering, Mengal said one ideology represents those who love Pakistan, while the other, according to him, is backed by elements supported by India. He emphasized that his party and supporters would continue to resist their opponents with determination and would never back down.
Mengal highlighted the legacy of the Pakistan Peoples Party, calling it a party of martyrs. He referred to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, saying they sacrificed their lives but never compromised on their principles. He also mentioned sacrifices made by his family and other political figures, stating that these struggles inspired his decision to join the PPP.
Criticizing his political opponents, Mengal accused them of using undemocratic tactics and alleged contradictions in their political stance. He also claimed that past elections had been influenced through unfair means.
Outlining his election manifesto, Mengal said his priorities include improving education, healthcare, agriculture, and communication infrastructure in the Khuzdar district. He pledged to expand educational institutions, strengthen healthcare services, and address farmers’ issues on a priority basis. He further promised to free the people from what he described as “anti-development feudal control.”
Mengal also criticized Akhtar Mengal, calling his resignation from the assembly a “political drama” aimed at gaining sympathy. He expressed confidence that voters would support the PPP, stating that the party’s victory would ultimately be a victory for the people.
