Massive Gold Reserves Discovered in Afghanistan’s Panjshir Province; Mining Preparations Underway

Panjshir, Afghanistan: Extensive gold reserves have been discovered in the Paryan district of Panjshir province, covering an area of approximately 30 kilometers, following preliminary surveys. Afghan news agency Bakhtar News reported that this significant economic development was discussed in a special meeting between Panjshir Governor Hafiz Muhammad Agha Hakim and the provincial Director of Minerals and Petroleum, Maulvi Muhammad Qasim Amiri, to plan the extraction strategy.

Governor Hakim emphasized that all mining operations must be conducted in full coordination with the Ministry of Minerals. He made it clear that any substandard or unprofessional extraction practices will not be tolerated. The governor also stressed strict adherence to all technical and legal standards, assuring full administrative and legal support from local authorities to ensure a transparent process.

The gold deposits are primarily estimated to be in the village of Tal and surrounding areas within Paryan district. Economic experts believe that modern, well-regulated mining of these reserves could become a key milestone for the region’s economic growth and prosperity in the near future.
