Families of Missing Persons in Greshar Protest Over Alleged Abduction and Police Negligence

Greshar:The families of missing persons in Greshar have reported a grave situation, alleging that on the morning of July 19, at around 4 AM, individuals in six vehicles attacked their village in Kochu Greshar. They claimed that the attackers indiscriminately fired at the villagers, abducted several young men, and looted their homes.

The families identified the abducted individuals as Shah Jan son of Saleem Jan, Gohar Din son of Khair Jan, Muhammad Jan son of Lal Bakhsh, Miyaar son of Lal Bakhsh Muhammad, Arif son of Abdul Rahman, and Munir Ahmed son of Sabir. They also reported that Munir Baloch was severely beaten and later abandoned on the road.

Following the attack, the families approached the police to file a First Information Report (FIR), but their request was reportedly denied. In response, they staged protests on the Greshar main CPEC road and at the Tubru Nala location, demanding the safe return of their loved ones and accountability from the authorities.

During negotiations with the ADC of Khuzdar and the AC of Nala, the protesters reached an agreement on several points, including the demand for the return of the missing individuals and an assurance of their safety. The ADC of Khuzdar reportedly promised in writing that if these demands were not met within five days, he would be held accountable.

While Goral Din son of Khair Jan and Miyaar son of Lal Bakhsh were presented in court, the whereabouts of the remaining individuals remain unknown. The families are now issuing a 48-hour ultimatum for the recovery of the remaining three individuals, threatening further democratic protests if their demands are not met.

They have called upon their fellow Baloch people to recognize that this issue transcends their own plight and could affect anyone. The families urge unity and collective action to ensure justice and the safe return of their loved ones, stressing that remaining silent will only perpetuate the suffering of their community.
