Iran Sets Conditions for Indian Ships in Strait of Hormuz; India Denies Claims

Tensions have reportedly risen in the strategic Strait of Hormuz as claims emerged that Iran has set conditions for allowing Indian vessels to pass through the crucial shipping route.

According to reports, Iran allegedly demanded that India return three Iranian oil tankers in exchange for granting safe passage to Indian ships currently in the strait. It was further reported that Iran also sought the supply of medicines and medical equipment as part of the proposed arrangement.

However, Indian authorities have strongly denied these claims, rejecting the assertion that any such demand was made by Iran.

Media reports suggest that around 22 Indian vessels are currently present in or near the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global النفط transit corridor. The situation comes amid heightened regional tensions, with maritime activities in the area being closely monitored.

The reported developments remain unconfirmed by official sources, and the situation continues to evolve.
