Pakistan Denies Reports of Providing Shaheen Missiles to Iran, Rejects Indian Media Claims

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Foreign Office has refuted recent reports from Indian media about the country allegedly supplying Shaheen missiles to Iran, stating that there is no truth to these claims. During a weekly briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch clarified that the allegations are baseless and part of a broader Indian propaganda against Pakistan.
Spokesperson Baloch also provided updates on other diplomatic matters. She noted that the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister attended an extraordinary meeting of the OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) to discuss the ongoing situation in Palestine, emphasizing the need for uninterrupted humanitarian aid to the region.
Regarding recent events, Baloch highlighted that Pakistan continued its support for the Kashmiri people and commemorated the fifth anniversary of the August 5th “Kashmir Exploitation Day,” reaffirming its diplomatic and moral backing for the Kashmiri cause in line with UN Security Council resolutions.
On the situation in Bangladesh, Baloch dismissed Indian media reports accusing Pakistan of involvement, describing them as unfounded and reflective of India’s obsession with Pakistan. She expressed hope that the situation in Bangladesh would normalize soon and reiterated Pakistan’s solidarity with the Bangladeshi people.
Furthermore, the spokesperson addressed the recent telephone conversation between the Iranian Foreign Minister and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, which took place following the conflict between Iran and Israel. Baloch affirmed that Pakistan and Iran had a productive discussion and emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace.
In response to the recent US Congress bill on India-US defense cooperation, Baloch conveyed Pakistan’s concerns and expressed hope that the US Congress would play a role in improving Pakistan-US relations. She reiterated Pakistan’s desire for a balanced and constructive relationship with its ally, the United States.
Lastly, Baloch extended congratulations to Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem for winning a gold medal, celebrating his achievement as a national pride.
