Cashless Shopping System Launched in Lahore’s Liberty Market

Lahore: The Government of Punjab has launched a cashless shopping system in Liberty Market under its Digital Punjab vision, marking a major step toward promoting a digital economy in the city.

The initiative was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Lahore, Captain (R) Muhammad Ali Ejaz. The event was organized in collaboration with JS Bank’s digital platform Zindigi, the State Bank of Pakistan, and traders of Liberty Market.

During the ceremony, the deputy commissioner was briefed on the modern and secure methods of cashless payments. The system enables fast, transparent, and convenient digital transactions for both shoppers and shopkeepers.

Muhammad Ali Ejaz stated that authorities will develop a comprehensive plan to expand the cashless payment system to other markets across Lahore. He also emphasized maintaining continuous engagement with the business community to ensure the success of the cashless model.

Officials said promoting the digital economy is a key priority, and steps are being taken to transform Lahore into a modern digital city.
