Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Warns Pakistan Amid Rising Iran-Israel Tensions

Karachi: Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid has warned that the conflict between Iran and Israel could escalate further, urging Pakistan to remain vigilant.
Speaking to the media outside an anti-terrorism court during his appearance in the GHQ attack case, Sheikh Rashid said the assassination of Ayatollah Khamenei would be a significant loss for the Muslim world. He claimed that the United States and Israel were jointly responsible for targeting Khamenei along with his family.
Sheikh Rashid also cautioned that Afghan militants could enter Pakistan to carry out acts of terrorism, emphasizing the need for close monitoring of schools and mosques. He added, however, that Pakistan itself is safe and will endure indefinitely.
On domestic issues, Sheikh Rashid remarked that life has become difficult for the poor in Pakistan, with businesses around iftar and sehri struggling and vendors missing out on the Eid season. “The poor are living only to die in this country,” he said.
