Iranian Delegation Meets PM Shehbaz Sharif; Pakistan Reaffirms Role in Regional Peace Efforts

Islamabad: An Iranian delegation met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, where he reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to playing a sincere mediatory role for peace and stability in the region.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the Iranian delegation was led by Speaker of the Iranian Consultative Assembly Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, accompanied by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
Discussions focused on the regional and global security situation, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcoming the Iranian delegation’s participation in the ongoing talks in Islamabad.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed that Pakistan would continue to act as a facilitator and mediator for peace in the region in good faith. He emphasized the importance of accelerating progress toward meaningful outcomes in the interest of regional and global stability.
He further stated that Pakistan remains committed to contributing constructively to achieving sustainable peace and will continue its role as a sincere intermediary for meaningful diplomatic progress.
