Pakistan Directs Air Traffic Control to Closely Monitor Airspace After Iran Strikes

Islamabad: The government has directed Pakistan’s air traffic control authorities to maintain strict surveillance of the country’s airspace following reported attacks on Iran.

According to sources, Pakistani airlines have been instructed to avoid using Iranian airspace until further notice. Air Traffic Control (ATC) has also been ordered to closely monitor the airspace of Iran and Afghanistan as a precautionary measure.

The directives come after reports that the United States and Israel launched sudden strikes on Iran, with explosions heard in Tehran and several other locations.

Iranian media claimed that multiple missiles struck areas including University Street and the Jomhuri district in the capital, Tehran, describing it as a joint operation by the US and Israel. Reports further stated that seven missiles landed near the Iranian presidential complex and close to the compound of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Thick plumes of smoke were seen rising from parts of Tehran and its outskirts, with panic reported in affected areas.
