Priyanka Chopra Reveals Why She Left Bollywood

Mumbai: International star Priyanka Chopra has finally opened up about the real reason behind her decision to step away from Bollywood and pursue opportunities in Hollywood.
In a recent interview, Priyanka revealed that she never intended to leave the Hindi film industry. However, she said she felt pressured and limited in the kind of roles available to her at the time.
According to Indian media reports, the actress shared that she did not plan to abandon Bollywood but eventually chose to explore more exciting and diverse opportunities abroad. She explained that she felt restricted in Hindi cinema for several reasons and was being pushed into situations that made her uncomfortable, prompting her to look for work that would challenge her creatively as an artist.
After spending many years working in the Indian film industry, Priyanka began taking up projects overseas and went on to establish a successful career in Hollywood. She said the transition was driven by the kind of opportunities that were available to her in India at the time.
Currently, the 43-year-old actress is shooting for a project in India with filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli, while also promoting her latest film The Bluff in New York.
Priyanka expressed happiness at having the freedom to choose her projects and said she enjoys working in both industries. She added that she is delighted to be back in India, shooting in Varanasi, and does not want to be forced to choose between Bollywood and Hollywood.
“I truly enjoy working in both industries,” she said, adding that while they are very different in many ways—just like the cultures—they both offer unique and fulfilling experiences.
