Falak Shabir Criticizes Atif Aslam Over Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Remake: “Let the Legend Rest, Create Original Music”

Lahore: Pakistani pop singer Falak Shabir has publicly expressed his disapproval of the recent remake of the legendary song “Sanu Ik Pal Chain Na Aave” originally sung by music icon Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. The new version, featuring Atif Aslam, has stirred debate among fans and musicians alike.
Atif Aslam’s rendition, part of a digital collaboration blending Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s original vocals with Atif’s voice, was meant to be a tribute. However, not everyone received it positively.
Without directly naming Atif Aslam, Falak Shabir criticized the remake on his Instagram story, stating, “Let Khan Sahab rest in peace and create original music.” His comment quickly went viral and ignited conversation across social media.
While some listeners have praised the collaboration as a creative homage, others have echoed Falak’s sentiment, arguing that classics like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s should remain untouched.
