Pakistan Hockey Federation Summons Players and Management Over Poor Arrangements in Australia

Pakistan Hockey Federation has called in national team players and management following reports of substandard arrangements during the Pakistan hockey team’s tour of Australia.
Videos had surfaced showing inadequate facilities provided to players during the tour, and upon returning home, team captain Imad Butt stated that players were given poor-quality accommodation and had to wash their own utensils and clothes. He also refused to continue working with the current hockey management and demanded immediate action from the federation, emphasizing that the team has limited time before the World Cup.
The issue drew the attention of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who took notice of the mistreatment. Now, sources indicate that the Pakistan Hockey Federation has summoned players and management for a meeting. Senior players, including captain Imad Butt and Hanan Shahid, have been called this evening, along with head coach Tahir Zaman, coach Usman, and Zeeshan Ashraf.
According to sources, the PHF will hear players’ complaints and the management’s response, take action within two days, and ensure the team departs for Egypt. The team is scheduled to play the World Cup qualifying round in Egypt next week.
PHF President Tariq Bugti will review detailed positions on player accommodations and other matters, consult with his advisory team, and take action against those found responsible. Players will also be questioned regarding poor performance and the large number of goals conceded. PHF President Tariq Bugti and Secretary Rana Mujahid are expected to announce decisions in a press conference.
