Quetta:The Balochistan Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rainfall over the next three to four days across various districts in the province. The forecast indicates that areas including Sibi, Hernai, Ziarat, Awaran, Kech, Panjgur, Barkhan, Kohlu, Dera Bugti, Jhal Magsi, Naseerabad, Jaffarabad, Kalat, Khuzdar, Qila Saifullah, Loralai, Musakhel, and Lasbela are likely to experience intense rain, which could lead to landslides in mountainous regions and flash floods in local streams and rivers.
Residents and local authorities are advised to remain alert. According to the report, intermittent thunderstorm rains are expected on Sunday in Kalat, Khuzdar, Panjgur, Lasbela, Hub, Awaran, Kech, Ziarat, Hernai, Sibi, Duki, Kohlu, Dera Bugti, Naseerabad, Sohbatpur, Jhal Magsi, Jaffarabad, Barkhan, and Mastung districts.
In contrast, Quetta, Qila Saifullah, Gwadar, Ormara, Pasni, Jiwani, Washuk, Zhob, Sherani, Loralai, and Musakhel are expected to see light rain accompanied by strong winds. Kharaan, Nushki, Qila Abdullah, and Chaman are anticipated to experience partly cloudy skies with a chance of drizzle.
On Monday, a similar pattern of intermittent thunderstorms is expected in Kalat, Khuzdar, Panjgur, Lasbela, Hub, Awaran, Kech, Ziarat, Hernai, Sibi, Duki, Kohlu, Dera Bugti, Gwadar, Ormara, Pasni, Jiwani, Naseerabad, Sohbatpur, Jhal Magsi, Jaffarabad, Osta Mohammad, and Barkhan. Meanwhile, Quetta, Qila Saifullah, Washuk, Zhob, Sherani, Loralai, Kharaan, Nushki, Chagai, Qila Abdullah, Chaman, Mastung, and Musakhel are expected to have light to moderate rain with strong winds.
In the past 24 hours, rainfall measurements include 45.0 mm in Kalat, 7.0 mm in Muslim Bagh and Ziarat, 5.0 mm in Lasbela, 3.0 mm in Khuzdar and Quetta’s Samungli, and 2.0 mm in Quetta city and Pishin. The highest temperature recorded was 44°C in Nokundi, followed by 42°C in Dalbandin, 39°C in Sibi, and 35°C in Quetta, Zhob, and Panjgur.
