Mahmood Khan Achakzai’s Strong Remarks on Current Political Situation in Pakistan

Pishin (Qudrat Daily)* – Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the Chairman of Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) and leader of the Movement for the Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan, addressed a large gathering in Pishin and voiced strong criticism of the current political and military establishment. In his speech, Achakzai accused the military and certain political parties of undermining the legitimacy of the 2018 elections, asserting that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party had won those elections but their results were manipulated.
Achakzai emphasized the importance of standing up against tyranny, quoting a Hadith of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, which states that “the best jihad is to speak the word of truth in front of an oppressive ruler.” He urged the public to join hands against the injustices occurring in the country, asserting that they must fight for the constitutional rights of the people, regardless of the military’s position.
Further, he criticized the treatment of political leaders, including PTI Chairman Imran Khan, who, according to Achakzai, had been unjustly imprisoned despite no criminal actions. He also remarked on the military’s alleged involvement with corrupt elements, such as smugglers and murderers, and questioned the legitimacy of supporting such alliances.
Achakzai assured his supporters that the Movement for the Protection of the Constitution would continue its struggle for a democratic system where all citizens, regardless of their ethnicity or background, are treated equally. He also called on law enforcement agencies to refrain from oppressing the people at the behest of corrupt politicians, urging them to honor their oath to the Constitution and the people.
In his speech, Achakzai stressed the importance of unity, not just within Pakistan but across the region, advocating for peace and collaboration between Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, and neighboring countries. He also strongly opposed the forced deportation of Afghan nationals residing in Pakistan, calling for recognition of their rights and citizenship if they were born and educated in the country.
Achakzai concluded his address by rallying his supporters to take collective action for justice, demanding the release of political prisoners, including Imran Khan, and calling for the restoration of democracy based on the Constitution. The gathering also featured speeches from other political leaders, including members from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), highlighting the broad support for Achakzai’s stance on constitutional protection and democratic governance.
