Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Concludes Three-Day Visit to Germany, Holds Key Security Meetings

Rawalpindi: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff of Pakistan, completed a three-day official visit to Germany from February 12 to 14, coinciding with the 62nd Munich Security Conference, where he held high-level meetings on global and regional security issues.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the visit, Field Marshal Munir met with several international dignitaries, including U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, to discuss matters of mutual interest, global and regional security, and counterterrorism cooperation.

He also held meetings with German officials, including Federal Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt, Foreign and Security Policy Advisor to the German Chancellor Günter Sauter, and Chief of Defence of the German Armed Forces General Karsten Breuer. Discussions focused on contemporary security challenges, bilateral defense cooperation, and the importance of multilateral dialogue for global peace and stability.

In addition, Field Marshal Munir met with Admiral Renato Rodrigues de Aguiar Freire, Chief of Joint Staff of the Brazilian Armed Forces, to explore opportunities for bilateral military cooperation. He also held talks with Lebanese Armed Forces Commander General Rodolph Hickel regarding regional and global security and measures to strengthen defense collaboration.

The visit is being regarded as a significant step in promoting Pakistan’s international defense and diplomatic relations, reflecting the country’s constructive role in global peace and security.
