ICC Saves $174 Million as Pakistan-India T20 World Cup Match Confirmed

Mumbai/Colombo:The decision to hold the **Pakistan-India match** in the **ICC T20 World Cup 2026** has reportedly saved the **International Cricket Council (ICC) an estimated $174 million**, according to Indian media.
The projected losses were calculated based on potential impacts on **broadcasters, gate revenue, and sponsorship deals**. Following the confirmation of the match, **airfare between Mumbai and Colombo surged**, with ticket prices rising by **₹10,000 to ₹60,000**, while the **hotel industry in Colombo** welcomed the development.
Earlier, after Pakistan had announced a potential boycott, hotel bookings were canceled and cricket fans were seeking information about **ticket refund policies**.
The **Government of Pakistan** has now officially allowed the national team to play against India. According to an official statement, Pakistan will face India on **February 15, 2026**, as per the original schedule.
The announcement ends the earlier uncertainty when Pakistan had declared a **boycott of the match** against India.
