PSL Franchise Multan Sultans Sold for PKR 245 Crore, Renamed as Rawalpindi

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily): The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans has been sold for PKR 245 crore. The team was purchased by Wali Tech, which placed the highest bid, and the franchise has now been renamed Rawalpindi.
The auction ceremony was held at the Expo Center in Lahore, attended by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Former PCB Chairman Najam Sethi and former national team captain Zaheer Abbas were also present at the event.
The base price for Multan Sultans was set at PKR 182 crore, and five bidders competed for the ownership rights of the team. Wali Tech’s winning bid of PKR 245 crore secured the franchise, making it the most expensive PSL team to date.
The franchise has been acquired for a 10-year period, and under its new ownership and name, Rawalpindi is set to participate in the upcoming PSL seasons.
