JUI Is Not Anyone’s Personal Property or Inheritance: Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani

Quetta (Qudrat Daily): Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Pakistan), Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani, has said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam is not the personal property of any individual, nor will it be allowed to be used as a family inheritance. He clarified that he has no personal differences with Maulana Fazlur Rehman, but rather holds principled and ideological differences.
Speaking to a private TV channel, Maulana Sherani said that when Maulana Fazlur Rehman associated his name with the party in 2008, they adopted a policy to run JUI strictly in accordance with its original ideology and principles, a stance that continues to this day. He emphasized that he neither formed any separate group nor parted ways due to disagreements, stating that he was part of the same party in the past and remains so today.
He said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan has been a purely ideological party since its inception, comprising its original and committed workers, and they want it to function under its original name and identity. However, he alleged that Maulana Fazlur Rehman treated the party as his personal domain and inheritance by operating it under the name Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazlur Rehman Group) instead of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan, prompting him to take a principled stand while remaining within the party.
Maulana Sherani reiterated that the party does not belong to any individual and cannot be run in such a manner. He added that since his principled stance was not accepted by Maulana Fazlur Rehman, he continued working within the party while upholding its ideology and principles.
He further stated that he has neither left the party nor formed any new group, and that he remains a part of the same organization he joined from the very beginning. He added that those who left the party in the name of personalities have no association with him and are not part of his party.
