Punjab Food Authority Seizes and Destroys Dead Poultry, Beef, and Mutton from Havelian Convenience Market

Islamabad — The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) conducted raids at two locations in the Havelian Convenience Market, resulting in the seizure and destruction of large quantities of dead and unfit meat.
According to a PFA spokesperson, authorities confiscated and destroyed 25 maunds of dead poultry and 3.5 maunds of beef and mutton. Legal cases have been registered against the offenders, and a loader rickshaw and a motorcycle were also seized during the operation.
The PFA Director General stated that the dead poultry and unhygienic meat were intended to be supplied to Okara and nearby areas, posing a serious health risk to consumers.
The operation highlights the ongoing efforts of the Punjab Food Authority to ensure food safety and prevent the distribution of contaminated meat in the province.
