Bangladeshis Are Our Brothers, Unfortunate They Are Not Part of the Event: Salman Ali Agha

Colombo: Pakistan’s T20I cricket team captain Salman Ali Agha has said that Bangladeshis are like brothers to Pakistan and it is unfortunate that they are not participating in the tournament.

Speaking at the captains’ press conference in Colombo ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup, Salman Ali Agha said that Pakistan is grateful for Bangladesh’s support. He added that it is disappointing that the Bangladesh team is not part of the World Cup.

Responding to a question regarding a possible boycott of the match against India, the national captain said that the decision about playing against India rests with the government and the team will fully respect whatever decision is taken. He said it is unclear whether the match against India will take place or not, and the team will proceed according to government instructions.

Salman Ali Agha said that this is his first World Cup as captain and he is very excited about the opportunity. He expressed hope that under his leadership the team will perform well in the tournament.

He said that Pakistan has been playing good cricket since the Asia Cup and has shown strong performances over the past six months. He added that the team is currently in good form and he is hopeful of strong performances and competitive matches against other teams.

The Pakistan captain also said that Sri Lanka feels like his second home, praising the hospitality and good manners of the people. He said he always feels happy whenever he comes to Sri Lanka.
