Shah Rukh Khan Includes Two Pakistani Cricketers in His Franchise Amidst Indo-Pak Tensions
Mumbai: Despite ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has included two Pakistani cricketers in his franchise team. Khan, the owner of the renowned Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders, has signed two Pakistani players for his Caribbean Premier League (CPL) franchise, Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR).
According to media reports, the CPL team has secured contracts with former Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir and off-spinner Usman Tariq for the upcoming season. Amir, who has previously played in four CPL seasons, has an impressive record, having taken 51 wickets at an average of 18.09 across 39 matches in the tournament.
On the other hand, Usman Tariq, who represents Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), will make his CPL debut in the West Indian grounds. In the recent PSL season, Tariq claimed 10 wickets in just five matches.
Shah Rukh Khan, known for his acting career and passion for sports, owns several cricket franchises worldwide. His team, Trinbago Knight Riders, is one of the most successful in the CPL, having won the title four times.
