Karachi’s Biggest Robbery of the Year Foiled as Most Stolen Gold Recovered

One of the biggest robbery incidents of the year took place in Karachi, where armed robbers snatched **200 tolas of gold and USD 100,000** from a citizen moments after he reached his home. However, most of the stolen gold was later recovered.
According to police officials, the incident occurred on **February 3** in the **Faran Society area of Bahadurabad**. The victim had brought 200 tolas of gold and USD 100,000 from his bank locker and had just arrived home when the robbery took place.
As the house gate opened, **four armed men riding two motorcycles** entered the garage and snatched the gold jewelry and cash at gunpoint before fleeing the scene.
The victim chased the suspects for some distance, but while speeding away, the robbers lost control at a large speed breaker and fell, causing the gold jewelry to scatter on the road. Seeing nearby bungalow security guards and watchmen gathering at the spot, the suspects managed to escape immediately.
Police arrived at the scene soon after being informed and took the scattered jewelry into custody. According to police, **around 90 percent of the stolen gold has been recovered**, while efforts are underway to trace and arrest the suspects.
A case has been registered, and according to the FIR, the total value of the stolen cash and gold is estimated to be **over Rs 130 million**.
