ICC Denies Accreditation to Bangladeshi Journalists for T20 World Cup Coverage

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has reportedly denied accreditation to Bangladeshi journalists for covering the T20 World Cup.
According to Bangladeshi media, journalists from Bangladesh were not given accreditation for matches in both Sri Lanka and India. Some journalists had initially received accreditation, which was later canceled. One journalist told the media that although he received a confirmation email on the 20th of the month, it was followed by a rejection email.
A senior Bangladeshi journalist noted that even if the Bangladesh team does not play, ICC usually grants accreditation to journalists from associate member countries. Bangladeshi sports journalist organizations have decided to announce their next course of action soon, stating that ICC has not provided any explanation for denying accreditation.
Emzad Hossain, chairman of the Media Committee of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, confirmed that 130 to 150 Bangladeshi journalists had applied for accreditation, all of which were reportedly rejected.
No official clarification has yet been issued by the ICC regarding the denial, escalating the controversy.
However, sources indicate that ICC media officials have asked the representative journalist organizations for a list of interested journalists. The accreditation process for Bangladeshi journalists is expected to restart. While they initially applied to cover all matches in India, accreditation will now be granted for matches taking place in Sri Lanka.
