National Party Condemns Arrest of Iman Mazari and Hadi Chatha, Demands Immediate Release

**Quetta:** The National Party has strongly condemned the arrest of human rights activist and legal expert Advocate Iman Mazari and Advocate Hadi Chatha, calling the action undemocratic and a violation of constitutional rights.
In a statement, the party’s central spokesperson said that Iman Mazari is a prominent human rights activist who has consistently engaged in constitutional and peaceful struggle against human rights violations in the country. The spokesperson emphasized that raising one’s voice against human rights abuses is not a crime in any democratic society but a fundamental constitutional and legal right.
The statement further said that the targeting and arrest of human rights defenders in different parts of the country is a negative, undemocratic, and highly condemnable practice. Harassment of lawyers and human rights activists, the National Party added, is an attempt to suppress dissent, which clearly contradicts democratic values and the Constitution.
The National Party strongly denounced the arrest of Advocate Iman Mazari and Advocate Hadi Chatha and demanded their immediate release, urging the authorities to respect constitutional freedoms and the rule of law.
