Biometric Verification to Prevent Fake Cases Introduced in Punjab Courts

Lahore: Punjab has launched a new judicial initiative to prevent the filing of fake or bogus cases. Under the plan, which has now begun implementation, all petitions and applications in the Lahore High Court and district courts across Punjab will require biometric verification before being officially filed.

According to Express News, Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, Aalia Neelum, approved the plan to curb fraudulent cases. The notification mandates biometric verification for plaintiffs, defendants, and all other parties involved, ensuring that fake and fraudulent cases are blocked at the outset.

The measure also applies to individuals submitting bail bonds or providing statements in court, aiming to enhance transparency and integrity in judicial proceedings. Officials stated that the main purpose of this step is to prevent forgery and ensure accountability within the judicial system.

Following the Chief Justice’s approval, an official notification was issued, and copies were sent to session judges and other relevant authorities across the province.
