Brazilian Swimmer Accuses Olympic Committee of Harassment After Being Disqualified from Paris 2024

Islamabad:The Paris 2024 Olympics are in full swing, with athletes competing vigorously for medals. However, a Brazilian swimmer has been disqualified from the competition and has accused her country’s Olympic committee of ignoring her harassment complaints.

Brazilian swimmer Ana Carolina, who was removed from the Paris Olympics, revealed shocking details about being harassed at the Olympic Village in the French capital. She claimed that her complaints were disregarded by the Brazilian Olympic Committee.

The Brazilian Olympic Committee decided to send the 22-year-old Ana Carolina back to her country after she posted photos on social media enjoying the Paris atmosphere with her friend Gabriel Santos. The committee’s decision came as a result of her social media activity, which they deemed inappropriate.

Gustavo Otsuka, the president of the Brazilian swimming team, stated, “We came to Paris to compete for the 200 million Brazilians who pay taxes. We are not here to enjoy ourselves or to take a vacation.”

Ana Carolina took to her Instagram account to express her frustration. In a tearful video clip, she criticized the Brazilian Olympic Committee for their lack of action regarding her harassment complaints. She alleged that she was not given the opportunity to retrieve her belongings from the Olympic Village and was forced to go to the airport in shorts.

The swimmer has claimed her innocence and has filed a formal complaint against the federation for harassment.
