Gujrat Corruption Reference: Charges Framed Against Former Punjab CM Pervez Elahi and Others

**Lahore:** An accountability court has formally framed charges against former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and other co-accused in a corruption reference related to alleged irregularities in development projects in Gujrat.

The hearing was conducted by Accountability Court Judge Rana Arif in Lahore. Former Chief Minister Pervez Elahi and other accused appeared before the court, where the charges were read out to them.

All the accused denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty. Following this, the court summoned witnesses of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and adjourned further proceedings until January 29.

The National Accountability Bureau has already filed a corruption reference against Pervez Elahi and others, alleging misuse of authority and corruption in development schemes in Gujrat. After the inclusion of two additional accused, NAB submitted a supplementary reference in the case.

The accountability court has now called NAB witnesses for the next hearing, which will take place on January 29.
