Punjab Launches Green Property Certificate to Curb Fraud in Property Transactions

**Islamabad (Qudrat Daily):** The Government of Punjab, through the Land Records System Reforms Project under the Board of Revenue, has launched the issuance of **Green Property Certificates** in **20 districts across Punjab**, including Sialkot, Multan, Sahiwal, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Okara, and Khushab.
According to details, the Green Property Certificate will be issued **in phases across the entire province** in the near future. The certificate will be **officially verified by the Punjab government**.
The initiative aims to **protect property ownership and boundaries**, and to **eliminate fraud and forgery** in the buying and selling of real estate. By ensuring verified and transparent land ownership records, the scheme is expected to significantly reduce property-related disputes.
Director General Punjab Land Records Authority, **Ikram Haq**, termed the Green Property Certificate a **major milestone**, stating that it aligns with the vision of **Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif** for a developed and prosperous Punjab. He added that the **digital land records system** will not only minimize land disputes but also provide strong legal protection to citizens.
Applicants can obtain the Green Property Certificate by submitting requests at their **nearest Land Record Centers, relevant authorities, or concerned housing societies**.
