Dubai Car Number Plate Auction Sets New Records, Most Expensive Plate Sold for Rs740 Million

Dubai: A record-breaking auction of luxury vehicle number plates was held in Dubai, where premium and exclusive plates were sold for astonishing prices.

According to Arab media reports, number plates worth a total of 109 million dirhams, equivalent to more than Rs8.28 billion, were auctioned during the event.

This was the 120th Open Number Plate Auction organized by Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA). The most expensive number plate was sold for 9.66 million dirhams, approximately Rs740 million, while the second most expensive plate fetched over 8 million dirhams, around Rs610 million.

Another number plate was sold for 6.74 million dirhams, equivalent to nearly Rs510 million, while one more plate was auctioned for approximately Rs330 million.

Media reports stated that a total of 90 special number plates, consisting of two to five digits, were presented for bidding. This auction is being described as the largest number plate auction in Dubai’s history, highlighting the continued demand for exclusive and prestigious vehicle registrations in the emirate.
