Masjid-e-Nabawi Muezzin Sheikh Faisal Nauman Passes Away After 25 Years of Service

Madinah:Sheikh Faisal Nauman, the respected muezzin of Masjid-e-Nabawi in Saudi Arabia, has passed away after dedicating 25 years to calling the Adhan at Islam’s second holiest mosque.

According to the mosque administration, Sheikh Faisal Nauman passed away on December 23. He was laid to rest after Fajr prayers at the historic Jannat al-Baqi cemetery in Madinah.

Sheikh Faisal Nauman was appointed as a muezzin of Masjid-e-Nabawi in 2001. Following his passing, the mosque administration also shared a video of his final Adhan, which deeply moved worshippers across the Muslim world.

Saudi media reported that calling the Adhan was a long-standing family tradition. Sheikh Faisal Nauman’s father and grandfather both served as muezzins at Masjid-e-Nabawi. His father was appointed as a muezzin at the young age of 14 and continued performing this sacred duty for over 90 years.

After his father’s passing, Sheikh Faisal Nauman assumed the role and faithfully carried out this revered responsibility for decades.

Head of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and Masjid-e-Nabawi, Sheikh Dr Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, expressed deep sorrow over his death. He extended condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the elevation of the deceased’s ranks and forgiveness.
